THE DIGGERS.
The Diggers were greeted with a large and appreciative audience in the Town Hall on Thursday evening. Each item on llie versatile programme was a star. The cleverest turn, which kept the audience in continuous laughter, was Joe Valli’s original sketch, “Tickets Please. The clever Scottish comedian and eccentric dancer is a host in himself, and it is rare that audiences outside the big centres arc afforded an opportunity of seeing, ancl hearing a comedian who ranks as one of the greatest fun-makers of the day. Bert Barton, the famous pantomime comedian, was another mirth-provoker, who sent the audience into tits of laughter. Stan. Lawson’s clever female impersonation and magnificent dresses will be long remembered. The other members are all old favourites. The Oriental scene was a feast of colour in setting and wardrobe. A special word of praise is due to the orchestra. The entertainment as a whole is out on its own, and will alwavs be sure of a bumper house in Eoxton.
