FOXTON RETAILERS ASSOCIATION.

The local meeting of the Retailers Association was held on Thursday night, Mr D. W. Robertson, president) occupied the chair. The question of enrolling more members was discussed. Hawkers fees were also dealt with and it was decided to write the Borough Council and request dial the permit; fees be increased. The question of inducing settlers in the outside districts to trade in Foxton was discussed at length. One member said he had been informed that several people in the liimatangi district did not know, until told', that Foxton possessed so many business houses.

Tt was decided to get into touch with such districts. The question of observing a holiday on the occasion of the visit was held over until the date was asertained but it was decided to fall in with any local arrangements. __
