ANZAC DAY BILL.

READ A SECOND TIME,

Wellington, Last Night

The Hon. Mr Downie Stewart (Minister of Internal Affairs) moved the .second reading,of the Anzac Day Amendment Bill in the House of Representatives to-night. The Bill provides that the day he observed in all respects as a Sunday. The Minister explained that the partial observance, as in (he past, was not satisfactory, and the returned soldiers’ wishes were now being given effect to.

The Bill was read a second time, and referred to the Defence Committee.
