BURGLARS DISTURBED
AN EXCITING CHASE
Christchurch, Yesterday
An exciting chase occurred last night, when two burglars were disturbed in an attempt to ride a safe in the premises of Johnson and {Smith, motor body builders. The burglars were operating on a safe, being not aware that Mr Smith was working on his books in the next roonf. Smith heard a noise, and investigated, but the burglars made a rapid escape through the rear of the factory and over the fence. The police were quickly on the scene, and made a search, which was resultlcss. The safe was closed, but not locked, and the burglars were disturbed before they had completed their overhaul of the contents.
