Maurice Tourneur, in his picturisntio_n of the famous American rural drama, “The County Fair,” has enlarged upon the spirit of that fine old piece which Neil Burgess used for so many seasons as a starring vehicle upon the legitimate stage, and the result is one of the most delightful stories that has graced the silver screen in years. It is a tale of simple people truthfully told, with the added excitement and thrills of a real horse race and all the fanfare and liveliness of a typical country fair in full blast. Here you see Wesley Barry, the freckled-faced kid, climbing the slippery pole or chasing a_ greased pig, while all the types which mingle in the throngs of I lie fair pays before you in endless amusement. “The invisible Hand” will be shown as an extra to-night in connection with the above, at usual prices.
The essential hollowness of radical social doctrines when confronted with the ordinary facts of human nature is revealed in “The Face at Your Window,” a William. Fox special production, which will be shown on Monday. This photoplay, said to be one of the most spectacular ever made, is from (lie pen of Max Marcia, the.celebrated author. The action lakes place in an American manufacturing city. Through the interest shown by the United States Government, William Fox was privileged lo obtain the free use of the busy town of Boouton, N.J., for all the exterior scenes. Also a great Sunshine comedy, “The Slicker.” Prices, 2s and Is, plus lax.
