CRICKET.
All interested in cricket arc re- 'yt minded of the general meeting to be held in All Saints’ schoolroom this evening. A special effort is being made to establish a strong club locally this year, and all those in any way interested in the game ar urged to be-present. It is impossible for'the promoters Jo make a r personal canvass of all those known J *’*' to be interested in cricket, and it is hoped that the advertisement appearing elsewhere in this issue will be taken as a personal invitation. If sufficient support is forthcoming, both a Wednesday and Saturday team will be put in the field. Last season, although no club was definitely inaugurated, a very successful time was experienced, Uoth Saturday and Wednesday matches being arranged with outside clubs. It is believed tha’t ample talent exists in Foxton to provide for two teams without much difficulty if those interested will rally and get together. At present a certain amount of material is in hand, such as pads, wickets, bat, practice net, and pitch mat, hut a couple of new bats will be required, and various other goods.
To-night’s meeting will commence it 8 o’clock.
