EMBEZZLEMENT BY CLERK.

David Sutherland, a clerk employed by the Defence Department, pleaded guilty this morning to embezzling £lO5. Accused bad received money for goods made by men undergoing vocational training, and had short-banked. He had got into difficulties - owing to gambling and horse races. Prisoner was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
