RIFLE SHOOTING.
The first shoot for the Borough Council trophies, amounting to £5 ss, was held last Saturday—ls shots at 200 yards. It was decided' at a meeting last week that the first competitor to gain 7 points be the winner, and that the handicap limit be tho same for both sections—--69. The weather on Saturday was fine, and pretty favourable, and the scores showed a high average. In A Section there was a tie for first place, which was decided on_ the “count back,” and as n result 11. Frankland gains 3. points, H. MeKegney 2 points, and J. Hartley 1 point. In B Section H. Hamer gains 3 points, and G. Cull and C. 11. Symons 2 and 1 point respectively. The scores were as follows: —
