FOOTBALL.
A meeting of the Management Committee of the Horowhcnua Rugby Union was held at Levin on Tuesday evening, when the fixtures for the first round of the senior and junior competition were drawn up. The following teams are taking part: — Senior —Ilui Mai, Kuku, ‘Wanderers, Shannon, Foxton, Tokomaru. Junior — Paraparaumu, Waikaime, Otaki, Otaki Old Boys, Ilui Alai, Kuku, Weraroa, Levin, Koputaroa, Shannon, Otauru (Shannon), Foxton.
The entries for the third and fourth grade competitions jire not all in yet, and the fixtures for these grades will he drawn up later.

The question of players residing within the Horowhcnua. boundaries and playing in the AlanaAalu Union competitions was brought up, and if was decided to write to the Alanawatu Union, asking that such players be.prevented from playing there. It was decided, owing to the large number of junior teams entered to divide the competition into two sections (north and south), and the section winners will play off at the end of the season to decide the championship. The sections are as follows: —North: Levin, ‘Weraroa. Kopularoa, Otauru (Shannon). Foxton, and Shannon. South: Old Boys (Otaki), Paraparaumu, Wuiknnne, Otaki, Kuku and IJtti Mai. The following are the fixtures for the Foxton teams for the first round of the Horowhcnua competition:— Senior. —April 30th, v. Levin, at Foxton; May 7th, v. Kuku, at Foxton; Alay 14th, v. Shannon, at Shannon; Alay 21st, v. Ilui Alai, at Manakau; Alay 28th, v. Tokomaru. at: Foxton.
Junior. —April 30th, v. Shannon, :it Foxton; Alay 7th, v. Otauru, at Shannon: May 14th, v. Koputaroa, at Foxton; Alay 21st, v. Levin, at Foxton; May 28th, v, Weraroa., at Weraroa.
A meeting of all footballers and everyone interested in the game will he held in the Town Hall supperroom to-night, at 7.30 o’clock, to make arrangements for the season’s play.
'The Foxtail Club has purchased the necessary jerseys foe players, and in addition Mr Palmer, of the Family Hotel, lias donated two jer--rnys. Mr W. Kirkland, Whyte’s Hotel, has made a generous donation of £5 5s towards the Club’s funds.
