ROYAL PICTURES.

The programme screened at the Royal last night will be repealed tonight. Sessue Ilayakawa has never been seen in a more dilightful story than that of “The Beggar Prince,” to be , shown at the Royal on Friday night. Of an Oriental flavour, and somewhat on the lines of the “Arabian Nights,” this charming romance reaches the value of contentment, illustrating the lesson with the comparison of the Prince and the Fisherman, the former changing- identities with the latter, to the benefit of the people in the fictional island of Desire. The production is splendidly presented, with a lavishness that serves only to accentuate the remarkable work done by the star in the doubfe role of prince and fisherman, both characters as divergent us the poles. The picture is particularly suitable for children, though children of all ages, from the youngest to the most ancient greybeard, will find much enjoyment in it.
