OBITUARY

It is with feelings of deep regret that we chronicle the death of Sydney Keith, the six-year-old son of Mr and Mrs C. A. Pearson, of Clyde Street, which took place after a brief illness, on Sunday morning. It appears that the little fellow complained of feeling sick a few days prior to his death, and medical aid was summoned. Nothing of a serious nature, however, was suspected, as he made no complaint of an injury or accident to his head. It was subsequently discovered that he had met with an accident, which had fractured the skull, with fatal results. The passing of the little fellow came as a great shock ■to the parents, to whom the sympathy of the community will be extended. The funeral took place yesterday, and was conducted by the Rev. Mr Halliday, and despite the brief notice, the casket was covered with beautiful floral tributes from sympathising friends, including his class mates at school, and one from tho Mayor and Councillors. A formal eoronial enquiry was held this morning, when a verdict was returned that deceased died from hemorrhage of the brain, caused by a fractured skull resulting from an accidental fall from a nip tor lorry.
