FIRE AT WOODVILLE
Woodville, April 18. By a tire early on Sunday the .shops of Mr McCullagh (cabinet maker), and Mr Gibson (bootmaker), were gutted, nothing being saved. The premises of Mr Chant (draper) and Mr Coulter (hairdresser) were damaged. Splendid work by the brigade and a good water supply prevented a more disastrous fire. The destroyed building was owned by Mr R. 11. Rhodes, and the insurances were £4OO on the building and £3OO on the stock.
