WEDDING.
HAYNES—ROBINSON
A very pretty wedding was celebrated on March 30th at St. Columbria Church, Grey Lynn, Auckland, by the Rev. J. Cable, vicar. The contracting parties were Mr Arthur B. Haynes, youngest son of the late Mr N. and Mrs Haynes, of Grey Lynn, and Miss Nellie Robinson, third daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Robinson, Tjiynne Street, Foxion. The bride, who was given nway by-her mother, was attired in a brown gabardine costume and a Henna coloured silk hat to match, and carried a bridal bouquet of white cosmos and asparagus fern. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Ethel G. Robinson, as bridesmaid, who wore a saxe blue costume and black hat, and carried a, bouquet of pink flowers. Mr. Frederick Haynes, of Takanini, brother of the bridegroom, officiated as best man. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a silver cake stand and suede handbag, and to the bridesmaid a gold brooch. The bride’s present to the bridegroom was a pair of silver-back hair brushes. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bridegroom’s mother, Mrs N. Haynes, 19 Hinemoa Road, Grey Lynn, where the usual toasts were honoured. The bride and bridegroom left in the evening, amid showers of confetti, by express for Wanganui, where the honeymoon was spent, after which Mr and Mrs Haynes will take up their residence at Grev Lvnn.
The presents were numerous, and included several cheques. The bridegroom saw four years' service in the late war.
