CRICKET
A Foxton eleven journeyed 1o Whitaumii on Saturday to play the final match with Whitaumii this season, and were soundly beaten, the scores being: Whitaumii 180, Foxton 03. Whilaunui had the services of Granger, of Shannon, uho alone was responsible for a total of: 70 runs before being given out l.b.w. Foxton was without the services of Furi-ie, who jvas unable lo make the trip. However, the trip was a most enjoyable one, and the visitors were treated to the usual Whitaumii hospitality. For Foxton, W. G. Nye topped the score with 21 runs, he being the only local man to reach double figures. Reeves was again successful in bowling, being responsible for live wickets, and ITirini four.
