RIFLE SHOOTING
The contest for the Fresh Food ami Ice Company’s Cup was held last Saturday by rifle clubs in the district. Shooting on the local range commenced at 11.30, in the presence of two check-scorers from Levin. The wind was westerly, veering to north, very changeable and gusty. Nevertheless shooting was very good, considering the conditions, and had the wind lessened in force, or been steadier, there is every likelihood that the Cup would have been won by Foxton'. The result of the contest is tliat Ilaulere wins with a total of 701, Levin second with 698, Foxton 68S. Para pa ran lint's scores are not available. The scores of the Foxton team were as follows: —
It is hoped to arrange a friendly match with, the Rungitikei D.R.C. for next Saturday, on their range at Bulls.
