BOROUGH WORKS.

The road foreman's report as follows was read and adopted at last night’s Council meeting: — Report of work done during past month: 'Weeding water tables Avenue Road arid Clyde Street, laying and joining pipes in Awahou drain for Mr R. Bryant, fixing seats in Triangle, Main Street, patching ruts in Russell and Johnstone Street and corner Duncan Street. and Ladys’ Mile. W T e have trimmed in loose metal and blinded same with clay in Avenue Road, Johnston and Purcell Streets. Asphalting in front of Town Hall—This work was held up by damp weather last week, hut is just about completed. There will be about sufficient tar left to do the school paths. -We have cleaned the Awahou Drain from the river to Johnston Street, and during the present month our chief work will be the annual drain cleaning.
