BOWLING.
A special meeting of the Committee of the local Club was held last night to consider an application from the Citizens’ Queen Carnival (,'onnnittee for permission to hold competitions and a tournament on the green on Wednesday (to-mor-row) ’afternoon. The matter was discussed at some length, and it was eventually decided to inform I lie applicants that the Committee regretted that the permission asked for could not be granted, as the condition of the green at present, owing to the continued -pell of dry weather, was such that the holding of n tournament would have a detrimental affect on same.
