CARNIVAL QUEEN NOTES.
Since Mr Reid has consented to become organiser of the Carnival tilings have taken a decidedly more concrete form. There are at present five queen candidates nominated, with the likelihood of the sixth entering.
Sports held a successful meeting of their committee last night, when several vote-catching schemes were decided upon, Mr Reid lias thrown the Town Hall supper-room, when not otherwise engaged, open free of charge for all meetings concerning the Carnival.
Fibre Queen Committee meet tonight, when something should start to move from the mills.
Native Queen Committee also hold a meeting to-night, and the Natives should prove a solid proposition.
