WOOD SPLINTER PROVES FATAL.
Whakatane, Yesterday. William Sands, aged 20, a farmer, a recent arrival, died from tetanulast evening. A fortnight ago a splinter of wood entered between his fingers. The wound was dressed at the time, hut tetanus supervened. His parents belong to Hastings.
