Conan Doyle explained that the papers referred to in an article :n a London paper were in Melbourne, namely the Argus, which boycotted lyim, and the Age and Herald, which treated him little bctt<•]■. He was favourably impressed by the high tide of the spiritual life in Sydney,-and more than pleased with the wonderful sympathy and appreciation shown in New /calami.
