ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
young woman drowned. Westport, January 0. At Grimily yesterday afternoon, Marjory McNeight, aged 15 years, daughter of Mr and Mrs T. McNeight, was drowned whilst surf bathing, through being carried out on the ebb tide. The body was found at s'o’clock this morning on the bench at Ngakawau. The McNeight.s have, been particularly unfortunate in respect to drowning accidents, as a son some years ago lost his life in a water race at Addison’s, and Mr MeNeight’s mother \rns also drowned whilst attempting to cross the Totara river.
KILLED BY A DRAY. Eltliam, January 8. Joseph Mullions, a married man, aged 49, with one child, employed by the Elthani County Council, was run over by a horse and dray on A\ cdpesday, and died this morning.
