The captain, who is conducting important experiments for the Government, wins .the girl, but the engagement is broken when it seems to be established that he is the children’s father. Matters are straightened out by the spy’s attempt to steal a report of the captain’s experimental work. Jane detects him, and raises an outcry) which results in his being shot, and in a death bed confession that he is the father of the children, and that their mother is an older daughter of the colonel.
