ACCIDENT ENDS FATALLY.
Alas ter ton, Yesterday. A. man named John Cooper, aged about all years, single, and a bttlcher by occupation, was reluming to Maslerlon from Carterton on a push bicycle at an early hour last evening, and, when nearing town, he met a motor car driven by a public servant. In endeavouring lo avoid the < ar. Cooper's bicycle swerved, and he was thrown under the machine. When extricated it was found that lie had suffered severe injuries to his head and body. He was removed to ihe hospital, where he died this morning, without regaining consciousness. Deceased had been working in the district for a number of years. He is supposed, to have a sister residing at Auckland.
