East Sul unlay Ihe first: shoot for Mr* Rider's trophies was held, a! ranges of 300 and UOO yards. The day was line, but a head wind of Ihe “fishtail’’ variety proved troublesome to many. The following were the scores; —
A triangular contest wit!) the Foxton, Linton and Hautere Rifle Clubs Ims been arranged for next Saturday, on the local range. A meeting was held hist night to make arrangements for the shoot, it will be a “friendly match,” ten men asidc, 10 shots and sighler each, at 300 and 000 yards. Shooting /will commence at about 10.30 a.m., the first range being fired in the morning, and life second in the afternoon. The visiting teams will be treated to dinner at Mr Porroau’s. The Fox lon team selected will consist of Messrs.A. Barnard, C. Barnard, H. Fnmklaml, H. Hamer, J. Hartley, S. Head, IT. McKegney. C. Morgan, C. Rand, J. Rider; emergency, G. Cull.
It is important that the above riflemen should turn up on the range sis early sis possible on Saturday morning.
