Great interest is being evinced in the sculling race for the championship of New Zealand, and a prize of C3OO, which is to lake place on the Waurau River on Saturday, ‘NUIi November. The present champion is W. Bagwell, who has come from Australia to defend his title agamst the challenger. I*. Hannah, of Blenheim. Both men have gone through a long course of training, and it is generally.anticipated that the race will resolve itself into one of the finest struggles which has ever taken plaee for the championship.
