“BEAU NASH.”

Throughout the session the colourlessness of the surroundings in the House of Representatives have been relieved by the fact (hat members have been able to indulge in the buttonhole habit. But on I'riday afternoon the Chamber was further brightened by the appearance of a silver vase well tilled with blooms on the desk of Mr J. A. Nash (Palmerston North). Mr Nash seemed considerably surprised at this ornament, which turned out to be a gift from members to Mrs Nash as a tlmuks-otfering for the buttonholes which the member for Palmerston has made available for them. Incidentally, the vase was accompanied by a brief inscription: —“To the Honorary Florist of the House.'’
