CRICKET.

A meeting was held on Thursday evening in All Saints’ schoolroom, for the purpose of inaugurating a cricket (dab. The Rev. W. H, A\alton presided. There was only a small .attendance, owing to the Horticultural Society's Show being held the same evening. The following were elected as a committee, to meet shortly and elect officers, and carry out the work:.Rev, W. 11. Walton, Messrs B. Barrie, T. Belly, AV. Bullard, Carter, D, Christie, J. AieAlurray. Stan. Barbel', MeKwen.

It is proposed that permission be obtained for the use of Kaston Park for the season, and as soon as permission is granted the members hope to pr;.pare (be ground and put it in order for two cricket pitches. A number of names of likely members were obtained, and it is hoped lo have sufficient members for two teams, senior and junior. ’ •
