.MINISTER

In reply lo Mr D., Jones (Kaiapoi), the Minister for Agriculture (lion. W. Xoswordiy) staled on Thursday, in the House of Representatives, that the Prime Minister had received a cablegram from Mr llugheP, Premier of Australia, stating that the Commonwealth Government was prepared to send a reureseutative to Xew Zealand to inspect the potatoes, and see if they were free from blight, and if the representative were satisfied a certain ((iiantily would be admitted to Xew South Wales. .The Minister said lie would be pleased to inquire respecting Air Jones' request that if the embargo were removed the shipping space should be allocated to give farmers a share with the merchants.
