At tin* meeting held in the ('mined Chambers mi” Thursday hist, there were present; Mr Pcrroau (in the chair), Mesdames MeMurray, C. Robinson, -I. Robiimon, P. East on, Moore, and Mr Trueman. Apologies for absence were received from Mrs F. Robinson, Miss Symons, Messrs Symons, Ilornblow and Moorhouse, and Rev. and Mrs Ilallnlay. If wa.s decided that a banking aeeoiinl be opened.
In connection with the recent concert and picture entertainment, vdes of thanks were recorded to the ladies’ committee. ibr arranging same, lo the performers, and to Mr Osborne’s orchestra. The nett proceeds of the concert amounted to Til).
Volos of (hanks to Air Hook and Mr A. S. Walsh worn rooordoi! lor donations for trees lor Easton Park. Mr Perreau reported (hat tlio Society's delegates had ooiiL'crrod with the Reserves Committee of the Conn eil and Mr Similar, procured and planted a good many Irons anil shrubs, and had employed labour for ploughing and levelling, lids notion was endorsed by the Committee.
It was doiddod that now die Society had made a start with its work, tlie guarantors be written to, informing them of same, and tnat their promises of support will ho aoooptahlo to go right ahead with the work.
A suggestion was made to the Ladies Committee that some torm of entertainment may he given lo start a pavilion fund, as a pavilion will he necessary as soon as the Park is ready for use. About ten new members were proposed. The membership fee is 2s (id per vear.
