METHODIST CHURCH.
The Anniversary Services in connection with the local Methodist Church were held on Sunday. Thepreacher for the day was the Rev. John Dawson, of Wellington, who delivered appropriate and telling addresses at each service. The singing by the choir, with orchestral accompaniment, was n pleasing feature of tiie services.
Last night a tea meeting was held in the supper-room of the Town Hall, and the tables fairly groaned beneath the good things provided. Those in charge of the tables were: Miss Henry, Mcsdames Chalk and Thornber, Miss Signal .and Mrs Cowley, Misses Seandon and Chalk, Misses Freeman and Ruback, and the men’s table by Messrs H. Osborne and L. Bullard.
The anniversary closed with an after meeting in the Church, at which the Mayor presided. Speeches were made by the Rev. Halliday, Captain and Mrs Coffin, and the minister, Rev. Harding. During the evening musical selections were played by Mr Osborne’s orchestra, and several anthems were sung by the choir. \
