It was one mass of mud, inches deep, and is wit hold doubt Ihe worst in the disIricl. The home learn, Avhich had a great ad\’anlage in Aveight, appeared to he quite at home in the slush, hut the Foxton hoys Averc very much at sea,-and experienced great difficulty in keeping their feet for any length of lime. Shannon made the pace from the start, confining the play to their forwards, and had the belter of the game during the first spell. However, Foxton defended gamely, and kept their opponents from scoring, but close to Ihc cud of the spell Pope place-kicked a splendid goal from a penalty. Ilalflimc saav no change in the score. Having 1 lit* advantage of a slightly down-hill run, Foxlon kepi Iheiv opponents very busy at the beginning of (he second spell, hut, try as they might, they could not gel over Avith (ho hall, although Shannon was compelled to force down on’ move than one occasion. The play avus up and down until laic, in the game, when Moses started a passing rush, which resullcd in Baker scoring in Hie corner. The kick at goal failed. The call of time saw no further score, the game ending 3 all. A feature of the game avus Hie play of the full-backs. Taylor avus perfection, his kicking being all that could be expected. Wilson (Shannon) took the ball avcll, and although his kicking avus not up to Taylor’s, he saved his team time and again.
