ROYAL PICTURES.
The programme to be screened tonight will include two star attractions, “Pay me” and “The .Man of Might.” For Friday evening another picture featuring the favourite. Sessue Hayakawa, will be screened. The feeling of conviction with which one. views the Japanese-American productions of the Haworth company adds considerable pleasure to tin* entertainment provided by them, says “The Moving Picture World.” Tlie latest addition to the series is “The Courageous Coward.” in which an attractive drama again illustrates the various phases of Japanese character .and the (plain! coyness of the native maidens. It contains several (ouches of comedy, and steps for a brief space within the pale of melodrama, evidently for the purpose of establishing its climax. The construction of the picture is cleancut, with its settings all American. Sessue Hayakawa does colourful work, an art in which he is a master, and bis dainty co-star. Tsuru Aoki. meets with good success in transforming the Japanese girl into a fashionable American type,- 'Georgy Herandez and Francis MacDonald are also noticeable for competent characterisation.
