XEWTH—FIELD

The marriage look place at All

Saints’ Church, Gladstone (Southland), on June 21st, of Air Richard D. Newth, manager of the Invercargill branch of the Public Trust Office, son of Air and .Airs IV. Xewth, of Oroua Downs, and late of Foxlon, and Aliss Olive Field, second daughter of Mr .1. S. Field and the late Mrs Field, of Glad-r-lone. The church was prettily decorated for the occasion by Aliss Field’s ninny friends. The Rev. Canon Fynes-CJinlon ollicialed at the ceremony, and Aliss Sea roll (Tasmania) presided at flu; organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in her beautiful bridal gown of while satin eharmeuse and while georgette, embroidered in pale blue and silver, with silver fringe. She wore a long while lulle veil with orange blossom, and carried a beautiful spray bouquet of white (lowers. The bridesmaids were Mis Estelle Field, Miss Elsie Morrah, and Aliss Sybil Rutherford (Canterbury). They wore pretty frocks of pink erepe-de-cldne and georgette, with small

wreaths of liny pink and blue flowers, and each carried a large black ostrich feather. The best man was Mr Cameron, and the groomsmen Mr Tom Watson and Mr Tony Koyds. After the ceremony Mr Field, assisted by his daughter (Mrs Alec MeCaw, Hakataramea), held a reception at his residence, River Terrace, Gladstone, the young couple receiving the congratulations of their friends under a beautiful floral bell. After refreshments hud been partaken of and the usual toasts honoured, the guests adjourned to the drawingroom to view the numerous and handsome presents, including a number of cheques. The bride and bridegroom left by ear for their honeymoon amid a shower of rose leaves and confetti, carrying with them the good wishes of their many friends. The bride's travelling costume was a nigger brown .coat and skirt, with a very becoming dark green velvet hat, with a touch of brown fur.
