FIRE.

DWELLING DESTROYED. Shortly after half-past seven last night a four-roomed dwelling in Stewart Street, near Mr Nye’s mill, together with the contents, owned and occupied by Mr IV. Sapsford, was totally destroyed by lire. It appears that Mr Sapsford was carrying a lighted lamp, and same slipped and fell on to the floor, rolling under the bed, and setting fire to the bed clothes and wall paper. It quickly spread, and it was found impossible to save anything. The building was insured for £sl) in the State Office, and the furniture for £75 in the Alliance Office. Mr Sapsford’s loss above the insurances is about £IOO. ■
