RIFLE SHOOTING.

There was a good attendance of competitors, and another new member, Mr A. Thompson, was present. The shooting generally was very good, and some high scores were made, Late in the afternoon a low sun again proved troublesome, causing sights to dazzle badly. Following arer'the scores: —
The toi> scores in the final result of the competition were very close. The gold medal, donated by Mr Parkes, was won by H. McKegney (GO, G8 —128), second prize, 12s cash, goes to A. Barnard (61,6G — 127), H. Frankland (65, 61 —126) gets third prize, 8s cash, K. Rand came fourth, with 126, and C. Morgan fifth with 125. Next Saturday a match will be fired with a team from Linton, if it can be arranged, on the local range. A meeting will be held this week to select team, etc. ,
