RIFLE SHOOTING.

There was a good attendance of members last Saturday fpr the last shoot for Mr Rider’s trophy, at distances of 300 and 500 yards. Pine weather prevailed, with a strong westerly wind, and some good scores were made. The day’s results, are as follows: — Yds. Yds.

The final results of the competition show that Messrs A. and (. Barnard lied for first place, with a grand'total of 130 each (possible 1 -I()). However, in the event of a I it*, Ike lowest handicapped man wins; so in this ease the trophy, valued at £l, goes’to A. Barnard, and second prize, 12s, to C. Barnard. (.’.'Morgan was third, with a total of 127, and wins Bs. J. Hartlev and R. Rand came lourlh, with 125 each, and W. Symons fifth (122). ’fills will probably lie the last trophy shoot, as class firing begins next month. It is likely that next Saturday the match against Levin will take place, and if so, a commillee meeling will he held this week. Watch for node!* in next issue.
