Smith’s grounds. “Linley,” Moiitna, to celebrate t!ie festival by holding the annual Catholic School picnic. This year, besides the children of Si. Mary's Convent school, the children of the Catechism Class, Shannon, at the invitation of Her. father Forrest at, shared (he day's fesi ivil ies. Ti'.e races and oilier compelilions were well eonlested, and showed sph ■•did training and practice. Much amusement was caused by the chasing of pigs—a very tiny pig being chased hy very liny hoys and girls. Another item of interest was the "frog race,'’ all the competitors being prize-winners —some for speed, since for high leaps, and others for ■-landing in position. • Much credit ami thanks are date to the ladies who looked after Ihe luncheon of tin 1 juvenile.-, and to their enjoyment and amusement; also io the gentlemen who acted as judges, si a rlers, and •handieappers. .ill seemed to enjoy the sports to ihe inmost, and expressed the hope of meeting' .again on.
