STATE SCHOOL PICNIC.
A meeting of the local School Committee was held last, night to settle details in connection with the State school picnic, to be held on Wednesday, March 3rd, on the Ashhurst Domain. A reply was received from the Railway Department, setting forth the time-table to be observed on the day, and the fares, which are as follows: Children 1/(3, teachers and elder scholars 2s (id, adults 3s. It was decided to print tickets and sell them before the day, such tickets to be exchanged for the railway tickets at the station and on the train. In reference to tho catering, it was' decided that tenders be called from the two locajl bakers, such’ tenders to bo dealt with by Messrs Homblow, Parkin and Robinson. Hot water and milk is to be supplied free to parents and, adults. Resolved that the tickets be sold by the children. A further meetings of committee will be held on Monday next.
