HOLDING BACK WOOL.
STATEMENT BY PRIME MINISTER. Wool-brokers have received from I fie Prime Minister an announcement that all wool clipped this seaMin is subject to Government, requisition, and that the wool-growers who withhold such wool from sale to the Government are committing an offence.
The following is the text of the announcement, which is signed by (he Kt, Hon. W. P. Massey The Department has reason to believe that certain wool-growers are holding hack their wool under the impression that it: will be free from (lovernment/ requisition alter Juno BOth, 1.020, and available for |Vrivatc disposition. 11 is advisable, therefore, to state definitely, that tins is not so, and that avoo.l clipped and wool produced at freezing 1 works on or before that dale cannot bo exported from Xcav Zealand, and that its sale otherwise than to the Government Avill be an offence.
The same position applies to skins from stock slaughtered (other than those - at freezing Avorks prior to June JOth, 1920).
