VICTORY LOAN.
ELEVENTH-HOUR CHANCE.
The intentions of the Government in regard to (Kitting into force their compulsory powers in connection with the £19,000,000 Victory Loan were explained to the House of Representatives on Thursday by the Minister of Finance. , Sir -fames Allen said the Taxation Department, would send a reminder to those who had not invested as they should in the'loan, and the statutory notification would follow a few days afterwards. Those who had not subscribed would therefore lie given an eleventh-hour chance to do so, but if they did not take advantage of this the compulsory powers of the Government would be enforced.
