PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

A special meeting, of the district pommittee of the Foxlon Presbyterian Church was held locally yesterday forenoon. Present: Messrs. Speirs, Claris, Henderson, Hornblow, Jas. Ross (Poston), H. Wilton, Gimlett (Rangiotu), W, Anion and Farmer (Glen Oroua). Mr Soil's was accorded a vote of thanks for effecting certain repairs to the manse. The treasurer reported that Glen Oroua had contributed £lO. towards the extinction of the manse loan account. The question of finance was discussed, and it was decided on the motion of Mr Speirs that an annual golden collection be taken up throughout the charge. "It was pointed out that this would’obviate, special collections* for minor objects. A sum of £6 10s was collected among the Committee towards defraying the Rev. Mr Halliday’s removal expenses. ‘ It was resolved on the motion of Messrs Anion and Claris to recommend to the Session that a Sunday evening service be held once a month at Rangiolu and Glen Oroua. It was decided that the quarterly meeting lie held at Glen Oroua on the second Monday in October. Other minor matters were discussed and the meeting rose.
