FIRE AT FLAXMILL.
STRIPPING SHED DESTROYED. The stripping shod of the Star liaxmill was destroyed by lire between 3 and 4 o’clock yesterday morning. The origin of the outbreak is unknown, the mill having been idle for the past fortnight. The fire was first noticed by Air J. Parker, and then had a fairly good hold. The alarm was given, and the efforts of a few willing workers who arrived on the scene prevented the tire from spreading to the engine-room and scutching shed. The mill was owned by Air L. W. Gibbs, and was leased to Alessrs F. Petrie and Co. The building and plant destroyed were insured in the Guardian Office for £270.
