PRESENTATION TO MRS. TEVIOTDALE.

A very pleasant function took place in Mr Walls’ rooms yesterday afternoon, when a large number of ladies assembled to do honour to Mrs Teviotdale, prior to her departure from Poxton, and to make her the recipient of tokens of their esteem. The room was tastefully decorated with camelias and daffodils. Mrs James Robinson was appointed chairwoman. At the commencement Mrs Healey presented the guest with a bouquet (made by Mrs Percy Easton), attached to which Avas the message: “With love and good Avishes." Mrs Mandl said they aU regretted Airs Teviotdale’s departure from their midst. The guest had given freely of her talents for the entertainment of the public, and avus never knoAvn to refuse Avhen asked to at any social function. Her voice Avould be missed at future concerts. Airs Alandl then asked Airs Teviotdale to accept a token of esteem in the shape of a travelling bag and a substantial cheque. Upon the guest’s acceptance of the gifts the company broke forth into the singing of “Bhe’s a Jolly Good Bellow,” Mrs Teviotdale avus visibly affected, and Mrs Alandl spoke on her behalf. Songs Avere contributed by Mesdames Bullard, Raine, freeman Aliss Bryant, duet (by special request) Alesdames Teviotdale and Freeman, recitation Aliss Aiteheson (Hastings), and a duct by Mrs Healey and Aliss Aiteheson. Accompaniments were played by Alesdames Freeman, Raine and Alisscs Signal and Aitclieson. A parcel Avas handed to the guest, bearing the inscription, “Found among the rubbish in my back yard," Avhich, to the surprise and amusement of the recipient, happened to be some spoons salvaged from the lire Avhich destroyed Airs Teviotdale’s premises and belongings. The gathering broke up Avith the singing of “Auld Lang Syne" and cheers for the guest, and to Mrs Walls for the use of the rooms.
