PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

The annual congregational meeting of the Foxton Presbyterian Church was hold last night. There was a fair attendance, the Rev. Mr Evans, owing to the indisposition of the Rev. A. Doull, presided. The annual report and balance-sheet, presented by Mr Claris (secretary and treasurer), was read and adopted. The report disclosed a very successful year, both spiritually and linanciaily. The outgoing managers were unanimously re-elected. Votes of thanks were passed to the choir, organist (Mrs Claris), choirmaster (Mr Betty), Sabbath school teachers, and the Ladies’ Social Guild, and P.W.M.U.

The moderator referred to the departure of the Rev. J. H. Bredin, and outlined the steps to bo taken to till the vacancy. He hoped there would not be any unnecessary delay in this connection. The Rev. Mr Halliday, of Masterton, would conduct the services next Sabbath, and he hoped every member of the congregation would make a point of hearing him. A general meeting of the whole charge would be held in Foxton on Wednesday, August 6th, at 7.30 p.m., when the various reports would be read and adopted, and final steps taken to fill the vacancy.

The ladies decided to entertain the congregation at supper on the occasion.
