FOXTON- WELLINGTON TRADE.
SHIPPING COMPANY FORMED
A mooting' of intending shareholders in the shipping company proposed to ho formed to carry on the Eoxlon-Wolliiigloii trade was held in Foxton yesterday afternoon. There was a good attendance, and Mr Ilennessy was voted to the chair. Mr Fuller, shipping manager for Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., and Messrs Ilennessy and Perron u, explained the steps that had already been taken in connection with the formation of the proposed company. An option had Keen obtained over the s.s. Kennedy, the purchase price being £5,000. If it was decided to purchase the Kennedy it was proposed that share capital to the amount of £O,OOO should be : called up, and promises had already been obtained for (his amount of share capital. Mr \V. Signal had gone to Nelson to make an inspection of (he Kennedy, and his report would be available early next week. After discussion it was decided Unit a company be formed, to be called The Wellinglon-Manawatu Shipping Co., Ltd., with a capital of £IO,OOO, divided into 10,000 shares of £1 each, of which £O,OOO will be called up at once; no further call to be made until decided upon by a general meeting of shareholders; also that the s.s. Kennedy be purchased for £5,000 provided Mr Signal’s report is favourable.
