FOOTBALL.
At I lie seven-aside football tourney at Palmerston N. on Juno 3rd, the Pox ton school was represented by two teams, A and B. In the lirst round A met College Street,-a team of about equal weight, and defeated them by 11 points to nil. Trios were scored by C. Francis (2) and K. Hirini, who. a Iso converted one try. Simultaneously with the A’s game, the B’s were having a hard tussle on the next ground, with Campbell Street. The joy of both A and B teams was very manifest, when (lie result, Foxton B 3 Campbell Street 0, was announced. Catholic School defeated Terrace End. In the second round B met West End (Palmerston North), and went under by 3 to nil, while A me*, Catholic" School, whom they, vanquished by 0 to nil, Lawton and Francis scoring tries, and Hirini kicked a goal from a mark by Burnett. The final between West End and Foxton A was very one-sided, A winning by 20 points to nil. Westwood, Lawton, Burnett, Hirini and Francis scored tries, while Hirini goaled (lie last try. The Pirani Shield, the trophy for (he winning team, will he held by the Foxton School for twelve months. t The thanks and appreciation of the teams is due to,Messrs Fraser, Gahites and Win. Ross, Alex Ross and 6. Alexander, the three former gentlemen for providing cars for the trip, and the two latter for the driving arrangements. Mr Fraser very generously entertained the whole party to lunch at Rawlins’ prior to the matches.
