FOXTON PATRIOTIC SOCIETY.
The annual general meeting of the Foxton Patriotic Society was held on Thursday, the 24th April. Tho President (Mr John Chrystall) presided over a small attendance of members. The report and balance-sheet, as’ printed, was adopted without discussion. The following officers were elected: —President, Rev. W, Raine; secretary and treasurer, Mr A. J. Follow; committee. Messrs \V. R. Barber, J. Chrystall, F. Robinson, G. Huntley and J. Purr, besides two to be elected by the Returned Soldiers and three to represent Moutoa. It was decided Recall a meeting of Returned Soldiers to discuss various matters they are interested in. The charging of exchange to soldiers of tin* English bank notes issued to them was discussed, and it: was resolved to approach the authorities on the mat lei’. A hearty vole of thanks was accorded to the retiring president, Mr Chrystall.
