FORGED BANK NOTES.

IN CIRCULATION IN CHRISTCHURCH. Christchurch, Yesterday. Two of the stolen and forged National Bank one pound notes have keen detceted in Christchurch, and it is feared that a systematic attempt is being made to put them into circulation. A bundle of unsigned notes was stolen from a vessel in Wellington on which the thieves forged signatures, to the notes and dated them “Ist January, 1018,” and no notes of that date have been issued bv the bank.
