Members of the local Girls’ Guild were socially entertained’"by- Airs

and Miss Symes last night, A( (he conclusion of <‘i pleasant evening;. Miss Signal, on behalf of the Guild, made a presentation of a bedroom dock, to be suitably- inscribed, and an ebony brush, to the president, Miss Sowell, as a mark of the girls’ appreciation and esteem of the recipient. Tbe presentation was a complete' surprise to the recipient, who, although hon-plus-sed, acknowledged the kindly feelings which prompted the presentation. Musical honours ' were accorded the recipient, and the hostesses were thanked for a pleasant evening.
