SALVATION ARMY.
VISIT Of COMMISSIONER DODDER. Commissioner If. C. Iloddor, 0.8. E., is honouring Fox lon with a week-end visil. The Commissioner is (ho Chief Commanding - Officer of Ihe Salvation Army work in New Zealand, and has recently had the honour of (he Order of (he British Empire —fourth class conferred on him by His Majesty the King, as a special mark of his appreciation of the splendid work performed by the Salvation Army for the welfare, of the Kew Zealand soldiers in camp, .on the battlefields, and in the various hospitals. This special visit to Fox ton, is primarily to inspect the Salvation Army operations locally, and to encourage the soldiery, hut the Commissioner will also take advantage of the opportunity to give a push forward to the great Prohibition cause. It will be worth while to hear the Commissioner’s views upon the subject, “Why Banish Drink?” on Sundav afternoon.
Airs Hodder, Brigadier Toomeii and Major Colvin will also ho present for the week-end services.
